Friday Night Dinner

Friday Night Dinner at Natural Gourmet Institute has become a culinary magnet for savvy
New Yorkers and visitors alike. Savor a delicious and unique experience when Chef
Instructors and students of our Chef’s Training Program pour their expertise and
enthusiasm into a three-course vegetarian dinner that is both innovative and beautifully
presented.

Every Friday night, the busy kitchens & classrooms at NGI are transformed into candlelit
dining rooms where guests are served at communal tables.

February 7th

~ Appetizer - 1st Course ~
Celeriac soup with thyme oil and caraway flatbread and salad of watercress frisee, red cabbage, dill, Granny Smith apples, and toasted walnuts in mustard-shallot dressing.

~ Entrée - 2nd Course ~
Herbed Great Northern bean and sweet rice croquettes in garlic-shiitake gravy with seared oyster mushrooms in a basalmic reduction, sauteed broccoli rabe with silvered burdock, parsnip, and carrot and pureed sweet potato with sage.

~ Dessert - 3rd Course ~
Chocolate brownie with vanilla-cardamom ice cream, caramel sauce, coffee reduction syrup and candied pecans.

* A portion of tonight's proceeds will go to Wellness in the Schools (WITS)an organization that inspires healthy eating, environmental awareness and fitness as a way of life for kids in public schools. Through meaningful public/private partnerships with school leadership, teachers, chefs, coaches, parents and kids, WITS develops and implements programs that provide healthy foods, healthy environments and opportunities for regular play to help kids learn and grow.
